KiDS-1000: Cross-correlation with Planck cosmic microwave background lensing and intrinsic alignment removal with self-calibration

چکیده

Galaxy shear - cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing convergence cross-correlations contain additional information on cosmology to auto-correlations. While being immune certain systematic effects, they are affected by the galaxy intrinsic alignments (IA). This may be responsible for reported low amplitude of $\times$ CMB cross-correlations, compared standard Planck $\Lambda$CDM (cosmological constant and cold dark matter) prediction. In this work, we investigate how IA affects Kilo-Degree Survey (KiDS) cross-correlation compare it previous treatments with or without taken into consideration. More specifically, marginalization over parameters self-calibration (SC) method (with observables defined only from source galaxies) prove that SC can efficiently break degeneracy between $A_{\rm lens}$ IA}$. We further different systematics affect resulting IA}$ lens}$, validate our results MICE2 simulation. find including constrain IA, loss due is strongly reduced. The best-fit values lens}=0.84^{+0.22}_{-0.22}$ IA}=0.60^{+1.03}_{-1.03}$, while angular scale cuts $\sim10\%$. show appropriate treatment boost factor, magnification, photometric redshift modeling important obtaining correct cosmological results.

Evidence for gravitational lensing of the cosmic microwave background polarization from cross-correlation with the cosmic infrared background.

We reconstruct the gravitational lensing convergence signal from cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization data taken by the Polarbear experiment and cross-correlate it with cosmic infrared background maps from the Herschel satellite. From the cross spectra, we obtain evidence for gravitational lensing of the CMB polarization at a statistical significance of 4.0σ and indication of the pres...

The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: Cross-Correlation of Cosmic Microwave Background Lensing and Quasars

We measure the cross-correlation of Atacama cosmology telescope cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing convergence maps with quasar maps made from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR8 SDSS-XDQSO photometric catalog. The CMB lensing quasar cross-power spectrum is detected for the first time at a significance of 3.8σ, which directly confirms that the quasar distribution traces the mass distributio...

Cross-Correlating Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation Fluctuations with Redshift Surveys: Detecting the Signature of Gravitational Lensing

Density inhomogeneities along the line-of-sight distort fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background. Usually, this effect is thought of as a small second-order effect that mildly alters the statistics of the microwave background fluctuations. We show that there is a first-order effect that is potentially observable if we combine microwave background maps with large redshift surveys. We intr...

Cross correlation of the cosmic microwave background with radio sources: constraints on an accelerating universe.

We present a new limit on the cosmological constant based on the absence of correlations between the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and the distribution of distant radio sources. In cosmological constant, cold dark matter ( LambdaCDM) models, such correlations should have been produced via the integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect, assuming that radio sources trace the local ( z approximately 1) mat...

Correlated gravitational lensing of the cosmic microwave background

Cosmological inhomogeneities gravitationally deflect radiation propagating from distant sources, transforming the spatial and angular correlation functions of intrinsic source properties. For a gaussian distribution of deflections (e.g. from a primordial gaussian density perturbation spectrum or from the central limit theorem) we calculate the probability distributions for geodesic deviations. ...
